It’s been many years that I have bitched and moaned about how compressors are big and bulky (and expensive), and I don’t need one that often, and why aren’t cordless ones better and etc... and now, one somewhat expensive trip to the HomeDespot later, I can safely say that balky nuts and bolts should now fear me!

Kinja'd!!!

It’s the second most powerful one they make, not the most powerful one... but the local ‘Despot didn’t have the BigBoy M18-Fuel High-torque (1,100 ft/lbs braking, 700 ft/lbs driving) in stock, and this one (M18-“standard” High-torque - 640 ft/lbs braking 450 ft/lbs driving) was $100 less to boot... Still less than a decent compressor and a nice air-impact, and about the same torque! And no cord!

I just bought one myself. Managed to break 2 of the 4 bolts I've tried in on so far.

I have other C3 tools, but that wrench is more expensive than the Milwaukee and has 150 less ft/lbs of torque, and my local Sears didn’t have one in stock :P ... Even though I could have spent $100 less by not having to buy a battery (and had another battery to use with my other C3 stuff...), I hope the Milwaukee’s extra power proves useful when the big stuff needs undoing...

(also I kinda like the look of that Milwaukee M18 circular saw....)

Which one did you get? When I look at the HD website all the Milwaukee M18 impacts are at least $299. Did you get it on clearance or something?

The total cost with battery was $269

Bare Tool

battery was a wrangled special deal... This set , but only $100

I had been planning on getting this drill set that came with a compact battery and charger, but they were out of it, I said... “I might as well order the big one and the drill kit... but I wanted to walk out of the store today with something” and the dude said “how about if I sell you the battery for $100?” and I said “Sold!”

I only spent $150 to get the wrench, battery, and charger. It appear to be down on torque per the specs, but I don't think that will be an issue for me. I have a 25" breaker bar if they're on there that good.

My brother in law and coworker both have full Milwaukee set ups. They really like them.

I am flipping between getting a ryobi 16 gauge battery powered brad gun and a compressor with 16 gauge gun and 18 gauge gun. Now you are talking me out of a compressor.

yeah, I considered the Craftsman, but my local store was out of stock of them anyway... made my decision to spend more money easier ;)

If you have the space, and will use it, a compressor is still a nice thing to have, and on the whole air-tools are cheaper by far... but the cordless is nice. I’m about to go out and try removing a lug-nut from my co-worker’s F350 dually..

I can't argue with that. I ordered mine online when I found a sale.
